“My summer trip was way better because I read this” - you

Summer is here (i.e. peak travel season i.e. lots of people get stressed). Here are some tips to make your experience better!

  • Book early flights. If your flight gets delayed or you have to re-route entirely, this will be a huge help to make sure you arrive same day!

  • Go grocery shopping at your destination. This helps in a few ways:

    • Save $$$ on restaurants that may have higher pricing during peak travel months (especially overseas) - I like doing maximum 2 meals a day out, and the other at home

    • Get the cultural experience of getting groceries in another country! This is so fun and gives you more context.

    • Helps you stick to your health goals easier!

  • Bring a small portable fan if you are staying in a hostel or Airbnb…you just never know!

  • Bring extra water and snacks for flights (there have been a lot of delays and cancellations lately) and you definitely don’t want to get dehydrated!

  • Layers always - remember that your home and destination might be hot but the plane will be cold mid air. I absolutely hate being cold on flights so have to include this one (but also remember planes are usually very hot when you first get on so layers are key).

  • Find some type of summer activity in your destination! Hiking, water sports, etc… this will help you feel like you are actively participating in the city!

Have fun and as always, be kind!!

Happy Traveling!
