Summer is almost here and with it comes peak travel season for many places around the world.
Peak Season = more travelers + higher demand + lower supply + higher prices
A few ways you can optimize your travel between June-August?
Book in advance
even if you like to be more spontaneous, i’d recommend booking flights, accommodation, and rental cars early on to save money and to make sure there is availability!
if you are wanting to visit popular tourist sites that require tickets, you should plan that out in advance as well to ensure availability
Be flexible
if you have some flexibility with your travel dates / plans, consider checking surrounding cities to find the cheapest flight options and then get a smaller flight to your main destination
often times during peak season it’s cheaper to fly on a weekday instead of a weekend
Go local
some of my favorite restaurants and activities have been ones I didn’t find on Google…consider choosing some experiences based on local recs. This will be a good experience AND likely be cheaper.
use public transportation systems (even between cities)

get there earlier than usual - lines will be longer
be nice - everyone is trying to get somewhere
